About

Established in 1958 by Ray Leask, Leask Engineering swiftly gained recognition for its technical proficiency and dedication to serving local communities and businesses. Initially, the company’s primary focus lay in the fabrication and erection of structural steelwork across New Zealand, contributing significantly to the construction of over 70 schools, freezing works, and factories.

A turning point occurred when Ray Leask was presented with a photograph of a herringbone milking parlour crafted from wood by a local English farming family. Inspired by the design, Ray replicated it using galvanised pipe. This marked the inception of Leask Engineering’s pivotal role as a leading supplier to New Zealand’s burgeoning dairy industry, renowned globally for its high-quality, cost-effective milk harvesting. This transition solidified Leask Engineering’s reputation as experts in constructing farm milking parlours. Over time, the company pioneered numerous innovations aimed at optimizing cow flow, enhancing milking comfort, and streamlining operations.

Today, Leask Engineering remains a family-owned enterprise, consistently exceeding customer expectations both nationally and internationally. Their commitment to excellence is unwavering as they continue to deliver premium dairy and yard solutions.
