Originating from New Zealand Steel’s Glenbrook site in 2003, the innovative concept behind Shutdowns and Projects proved successful for the company, propelling it from small-scale contracting to its current position as one of the predominant maintenance and shutdown contractors within New Zealand. The organization has evolved into a major provider of heavy industrial maintenance solutions, fabrication, and construction services, boasting an ever-growing clientele.
With considerable experience operating across manufacturing, commercial, utility, food and beverage, and heavy industrial sites, IMG has garnered significant industry exposure and consistently achieves challenging milestones. Privately owned and employing over 110 permanent personnel, complemented by a substantial pool of regular contractors and casual employees, the company continues to expand its skill base to deliver projects on time and overcome the pressure of completing challenging endeavors.
Adopting the aforementioned philosophy, IMG stands as a prime provider of mechanical, rigging, scaffolding, off-site manufacturing, industrial labor, and confined space management, catering to wider maintenance, projects, and operational requirements. Through strategic acquisitions, IMG has established operations at Takanini, Glenbrook, Wiri, Kinleith, and Kawerau, offering maintenance and project services to the heavy industry sector. The Head Office workshop at Takanini is presently licensed to manufacture steel beams, with accreditation to ISO: 3834.
IMG serves as a leading example of Health & Safety and Quality in the primary sector. With memberships to SARNZ and HERA, coupled with accreditation to ASNZS 4801 and ISO 9001:2008, the company possesses systems and a safety record conducive to maintaining its Tertiary level ACC Accreditation. These systems and structures drive continuous improvement and add genuine value to all clients.
The organization has accumulated considerable experience within its immediate team, associates, and subcontractors in delivering maintenance and project services on a wide range of heavy industrial and other New Zealand sites. Built on reputation, integrity, innovation, and a long-term customer focus, the business channels these values into its vision for the future.
